Sana’a: Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mohammed al-Muwalad recently assessed the ongoing restoration and turfing project at al-Dhurafi Stadium in preparation for its official handover. Joined by Undersecretaries Ali Hadban and Ramzi al-Aghbari, the Minister received updates on the project’s completion status and readiness for future use.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. al-Muwalad highlighted the necessity of evaluating additional stadium requirements for sports teams, which will be coordinated with the Youth and Sports Office in Sana’a. The Minister underscored the importance of readying the facility for its opening soon.
To test the new turf’s stability prior to hosting significant competitions, Dr. al-Muwalad has initiated the organization of a football championship targeting talented youth and junior players. This championship is intended to serve as a preliminary trial of the stadium’s surface before it is used for larger youth and senior men’s competitions, as advised by the project’s implementation team.
