Al-mahwit: The Zakat Authority office in Al-Mahwit Governorate today launched the project for disbursing Zakat al-Fitr, cash assistance for the incapacitated, medical assistance, debt relief, emergency financial aid, and distribution of grains to poor cases in the governorate's districts for the year 1447 AH. The project, implemented by the Authority's office in the governorate at a cost of 729,160,000 riyals, targets 40,821 beneficiary families.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, attended by the Governor's Deputy, Hussein Arkad, the Governorate Mobilization Official, Ismail Sharaf al-Din, affirmed the importance of charitable projects in providing aid and support to poor and needy families, and alleviating their suffering under difficult circumstances. He praised the efforts of those in charge and everyone who contributes to supporting humanitarian and charitable work, for its impact in enhancing social solidarity among community members, stressing the necessity of continuing to implement humanitarian initiatives and ensuring that aid reaches the most needy groups.
Sharaf al-Din called on businessmen and merchants from the governorate's sons to take the initiative to pay the zakat on their wealth so that its goodness may return to the poor, needy, and orphans. For his part, the Director of the Zakat Office in the governorate, Hameed Al-Radmi, affirmed that the launch of assistance comes within the framework of the Authority's efforts to alleviate the suffering of poor and needy families, and to embody the values of social solidarity and compassion among community members.
He pointed out that the Authority is proceeding with implementing numerous developmental and charitable programs and projects that target the most needy groups, contributing to improving the standard of living. Al-Radmi urged philanthropists and community members to cooperate with the Authority and contribute to supporting its humanitarian and development projects, to enhance its efforts in serving the poor and needy and achieving community development.
Meanwhile, the Director of Banking at the Zakat Authority office, Saleh Al-Hamzi, affirmed that the disbursement of Zakat al-Fitr and cash assistance for those unable to work and poor cases will be done through post offices in the governorate's districts, while it will be disbursed to remote areas through post branches and mobile post teams.
