Zakat Office in Dhamar Launches Economic Empowerment Program

Dhamar: The office of the General Authority for Zakat in Dhamar Governorate organized a meeting for media representatives, writers, and activists to prepare for the launch of the economic empowerment program “Vocational integration into the labor market and disbursement of vocational bags” scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday. The meeting aimed to outline the program’s objectives and strategies for integrating vocational skills into the labor market.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed the programs of the economic empowerment project implemented by the Authority and its stages in building capacities and providing capabilities for the target groups of the project according to the Zakat banks. It highlighted the program’s role in combating poverty and supplying the labor market with qualified professional cadres in various specialties, as well as its contribution to forming small income-generating projects.

During the meeting, the director of the Zakat Commission office in the governorate, Ibrahim Al-Mutawakel, discussed the commission’s efforts and the projects it implements across different fields. He noted the successes achieved in the zakat banks compared to previous conditions, emphasizing the commission’s progress.

Al-Mutawakel announced that the distribution of vocational bags for 430 beneficiaries, who have completed the theoretical and practical training phase, will be launched tomorrow, Sunday. This initiative encompasses 13 training programs within the framework of the economic empowerment project, implemented in cooperation with the technical and vocational training sector.

He also urged traders to take the initiative to pay their zakat and assist the Authority’s branch in reviving the obligation of zakat, reinforcing the community’s commitment to these social responsibilities.
