Hodeida: The 120-kilowatt solar power system for Kamran Rural Hospital was launched on Monday in al-Marawi'ah district of Hodeida province. The project was funded by the Ministry of Finance at a cost of $20,000.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the launch, Dr. Ali al-Haddad, Director of the Health and Environment Office in the governorate, and Abdullah al-Marwani, Director of al-Marawi'ah District, received a briefing from Ibrahim al-Jabali, Director of the District Health Office, on the importance of the system in providing a stable and sustainable electricity supply to the emergency room, laboratories, and neonatal intensive care units, replacing the previous system which had been damaged.
Dr. al-Haddad emphasized that the system's launch will significantly improve medical services at the hospital, ensuring the continuity of healthcare and overcoming the current challenges resulting from the aggression and blockade that targeted the energy sector's infrastructure.
Al-Marwani pointed out that the project will reduce operational costs resulting from fuel consumption for generators, and direct the savings towards improving treatment services and providing medicines. He praised the response of the Ministry of Finance and the efforts of the implementing engineering teams.
