Sana'a: A high-level meeting in the capital Sana'a brought together officials from the Ministries of Agriculture and Electricity, the Water Resources Authority, and the Agriculture, Water, and Environment Court and Prosecution to discuss mechanisms for enhanced coordination on agricultural and water-related issues.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Ammar al-Karim; Undersecretary of Electricity, Energy, and Water Adel Bader; Chairman of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities Engineer Hadi Qura'a; Head of the Agriculture, Environment, and Water Court Judge Anwar Muqbil; and Deputy Prosecutor for Agriculture Judge Sarim Al-Din Mufaddal.
Participants reviewed strategies to strengthen cooperation between ministries, the Water Resources Authority, and the courts to ensure effective application of laws related to agriculture and water. Discussions focused on securing proper court premises, handling pending cases, and coordinating on issues such as illegal drilling and unlicensed rigs.
The Acting Minister emphasized the importance of coordination with the court and prosecution office to address agricultural and water challenges, while the Undersecretary of Electricity commended the court's establishment to ensure justice in water-related cases.
Engineer Qura'a confirmed the Authority has multiple pending cases and expressed readiness to provide documentation to the court and prosecution office for resolution. Judges Muqbil and Mufaddal highlighted the need for ongoing collaboration with all relevant ministries and authorities to develop solutions for water and agriculture issues.
