Sana'a: Public and private parks and gardens in Ibb city and across the governorate's districts welcomed 191,000 visitors from within and outside the governorate during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Ghanem Awaj, the head of the governorate's tourism sector, explained that parks, gardens, and tourist facilities underwent rehabilitation and maintenance work during the past period. This included upgrading playgrounds, expanding green spaces, and providing some free recreational services, in addition to improving the overall service level. These improvements were part of the office's plan to develop recreational areas and enhance hotel services.
He noted that more than 750 employees, including administrators, technicians, cleaning and landscaping staff, security personnel, and representatives from relevant authorities, participated in providing services to visitors according to the prepared plan.
He added that accommodation and tourist facilities recorded a 100% occupancy rate. Awaj considered the large turnout witnessed in the governorate during the Eid holiday an indicator of the success of the organizational and service plans that were implemented. He emphasized that the office is working to evaluate the Eid experience and learn from its outcomes to avoid any shortcomings and enhance the positive aspects in the future, thus ensuring the sustainability of tourism.
He commended the efforts of the staff of the Tourism Office and its branches in the districts in completing the necessary arrangements to create a suitable environment for visitors to parks and recreational areas, ensuring their comfort and safety.
The head of the tourism sector in the governorate explained that these arrangements included forming field teams to ensure the safety and maintenance of rides, strengthening security and safety procedures, adhering to the approved pricing, improving the overall appearance, paying attention to lighting and cleanliness, and enhancing the quality of services provided, enabling visitors to spend an enjoyable holiday and appreciate the stunning natural beauty that characterizes the governorate.
He praised the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the local authority in the governorate in supporting the tourism sector, which contributes to developing the performance of tourist facilities. He called on investors to invest in this vital sector and take advantage of the available opportunities and benefits.
