Marib: 21 newly trained midwives have begun work in Marib governorate after completing a three-year diploma program in midwifery. The midwives were distributed to health facilities in the most needy areas.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Health Minister Dr. Najeeb Al-Qubati emphasized the vital role of midwives in reducing maternal and newborn mortality rates, stressing the need to apply their training and develop their skills. He noted that midwife training remains a ministry priority to address shortages in remote areas.
The Marib Health Office director highlighted the importance of translating education into practical improvements in health services. The deployment of these midwives is seen as a crucial step in enhancing health care delivery in underserved regions.
The graduates expressed gratitude for the ministry's support and affirmed their commitment to serving rural communities. Their dedication is anticipated to significantly impact the health outcomes of mothers and newborns in the Marib governorate.
