300 Families Receive Assistance Following Floods in Hodeida

Hodeida: The Yemeni Red Crescent Society, Hodeida Governorate branch, today launched the distribution of emergency food and shelter aid to families affected by floods in Bajil District, with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

According to Yemen News Agency, the aid targeted 300 families from the district's Saddam neighborhood, whose homes and property were damaged by the floods, as part of humanitarian efforts to alleviate their suffering. Jaber Al-Razihi, the Society's Executive Director, explained that field teams began an inventory and assessment process immediately after receiving the distress call from the local authorities, and an urgent plan was developed to distribute aid in accordance with approved humanitarian standards.

He stated that this intervention is part of a series of emergency responses implemented by the Yemeni Red Crescent to support the most affected families in various districts of the governorate. For his part, the Director of Bajil District, Abdul-Moneim Al-Rifai, praised this humanitarian contribution provided by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society and its international partners, indicating that this aid will contribute to alleviating the suffering of affected families.
