Sana'a: A total of 838 bachelor's and diploma graduates in Ibb Governorate sat for the second 2026 competency examination for medical and pharmaceutical licensing on Thursday. The exam, organized by the Yemeni Medical Council in coordination with Jiblah University for Medical and Health Sciences, is designed to assess graduates seeking licenses to practice medical and pharmaceutical professions.
According to Yemen News Agency, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Medical Council Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi said the examination aims to ensure the quality and competence of healthcare practitioners, enhance patient safety, and improve healthcare services in line with approved professional standards. He noted that the unified competency exam is a key step in regulating medical practice and standardizing professional evaluation and licensing procedures across the country's governorates.
Jiblah University Rector and Director of Jiblah University Hospital Dr. Abdullah Al-Matari said the university had provided the technical and logistical support necessary for the examination, describing its hosting of the test as part of its role in preparing qualified healthcare professionals to meet the needs of the health sector.
