Taiz: Acting governor of Taiz Ahmed al-Masawi on Tuesday inspected progress on the rehabilitation, maintenance, and paving project of the eastern entrance road at Qasr Roundabout. During the visit, Ahmed al-Masawi, accompanied by Fourth Military Region Assistant Commander Mohammed al-Khaled and Public Works Office Director Bakeel Hameed, as well as Mawiyah District Director Abdulsalam Hashem, reviewed the ongoing works on the road project.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Masawi confirmed that efforts are underway to rehabilitate and repair sections damaged by recent floods, as part of restoring the eastern entrance to facilitate movement to and from Taiz city. He called for intensified efforts to complete maintenance and rehabilitation works within the specified timeframe.

For his part, Bakeel Hameed explained that the project is part of a broader plan by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, in coordination with local authorities and the Fourth Military Region, to repair flood-damaged sections of the road. He noted the commitment to meeting required technical standards and timelines, adding that current works cover 300 meters, following earlier repairs of 95 meters carried out during Ramadan through a joint local initiative.
