Hodeidah: A meeting in Hodeidah Governorate today, led by the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, focused on outlining strategies to enhance the performance of civil society organizations, cooperatives, and associations in the region.
According to Yemen News Agency, the gathering included key figures such as Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sayegh, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, and Mohammed Obaid Deen, head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch. Discussions centered on improving administrative and technical operations within the office's departments to address current challenges and elevate the quality of services delivered to both citizens and farmers.
Attendees examined plans to bolster the developmental role of agricultural associations, promote community-driven initiatives as a core element of development, and devise practical solutions to financial and technical challenges to ensure the ongoing viability of productive projects in the governorate.
Deputy Minister Al-Madani emphasized the ministry's commitment to enhancing the institutional capacities of cooperative associations, enabling them to play a significant role in bolstering the national economy. He highlighted the importance of training programs for staff to align with the demands of development work and the state's objectives for achieving self-sufficiency.
Dr. Al-Sayegh underscored the importance of effective partnerships between official entities and associations to ensure the success of agricultural initiatives, stressing the need for adherence to financial and administrative transparency standards and the integration of field roles.
Additionally, Mohammed Obaid Deen commended the Ministry of Social Affairs for its support to cooperative associations, providing necessary technical assistance, removing obstacles, and improving performance levels in the agricultural sector.
