3.4 Billion Omani Rials Surplus in Sultanate of Oman’s Trade Balance

Sana'a: The trade balance of the Sultanate of Oman recorded a surplus by the end of May 2026, amounting to 3.4 billion Omani rials, achieving a growth of 37.2 percent compared to the surplus recorded during the same period in 2025, which stood at 2.5 billion Omani rials.

According to Yemen News Agency, data issued by the Omani National Center for Statistics and Information showed that the total value of Oman's commodity exports rose by 10.1 percent, reaching approximately 10.6 billion Omani rials by the end of May 2026, compared to 9.6 billion Omani rials during the same period in 2025.

This performance was driven by an 8.4 percent increase in the value of oil and gas exports, reaching 6.8 billion Omani rials, compared to 6.3 billion Omani rials by the end of May 2025. The value of re-exports also rose by 64 percent, reaching 1 billion Omani rials, compared to 623 million Omani rials, while non-oil exports recorded a growth of 1.5 percent, reaching 2.74 billion Omani rials, compared to 2.70 billion Omani rials during the same period last year.

In contrast, the value of commodity imports rose by 0.8 percent, reaching 7.22 billion Omani rials by the end of May 2026, compared to 7.20 billion Omani rials by the end of May 2025.
