Moscow: Trade between the Russian Federation and the United States grew by a quarter, reaching nearly $4 billion, during the first year of Donald Trump's new administration, according to Sputnik's calculations based on US Customs data.
According to Yemen News Agency, trade between Moscow and Washington increased to $3.9 billion from January to October of last year, compared to $3.2 billion during the same period in 2024, under the Biden administration. This represents a 23.9% year-on-year increase in bilateral trade.
The United States exported the largest quantity of medical equipment to Russia during the past ten months, valued at $53.9 million, along with various other products worth $34.9 million. Chemical analysis equipment ranked third in exports, valued at $33.8 million.
American pharmaceuticals ($27.9 million) and X-ray equipment ($23.6 million) are also in demand in the Russian market.
Meanwhile, Russia increased its nitrogen fertilizer exports to the United States from January to October, with exports more than doubling year-on-year to reach $1.1 billion. The second largest commodity exported by Russian companies to the US market was platinum ($732.9 million), and the third largest was potash fertilizer ($266.5 million).
In addition, Moscow exported gas turbines ($80.7 million) and plywood ($61.1 million) to Washington.
