Muscat: The Muscat Stock Exchange's main index experienced a significant rise, gaining 140 points over the last week and closing at 7,508 points. This marks its highest level in four weeks, driven by positive investor sentiment following the release of first-half financial results and dividend distributions by several companies.
According to Yemen News Agency, all sector indices recorded gains, contributing to the overall positive performance of the exchange. The market capitalization increased by approximately 360.7 million Omani rials, reaching a total of 38.19 billion rials.
Despite the upward trend in the index and market capitalization, the trading value saw a decline of 7 percent, amounting to 246.1 million Omani rials. Additionally, the number of transactions decreased by 6.2 percent, totaling 41,760.
