Sana'a: The Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Ammar Al-Karim, today reviewed the performance level at the office of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority. He listened to an explanation from the Deputy Head of the Authority, Engineer Abdulkarim Al-Sufyani, about the workflow and the extent of job discipline of the Authority's cadres, administratively and technically, during the blessed month of Ramadan, and the efforts made to implement plans and programs prepared to advance work and preserve water resources.
According to Yemen News Agency, a meeting, chaired by the Acting Minister of Agriculture and including the ministry's undersecretaries, the Authority's deputies, and general directors, discussed the projects implemented by the Authority and its branches in the governorates, procedures for controlling random drilling violations, and subjecting violators to relevant regulations and laws.
The attendees reviewed the projects and activities implemented by the Authority in partnership with entities working in the water sector, within the framework of the project to update the National Water Strategy and its included plans and programs according to the targets of the national vision and the methodology of previous strategies.
The meeting touched upon aspects related to proposals for preparing the "Tasheel" initiative to rectify the status of violating wells and drilling rigs, and to address past accumulations related to finding solutions and treatments for accumulated cases in courts and the efforts made to resolve and eliminate them.
The Acting Minister of Agriculture affirmed the necessity of working as one team, raising the level of performance, preserving water, and developing its sources. He pointed out the keenness on partnership with local authorities in the governorates, security agencies, and relevant bodies to ensure the preservation of water resources and basins, and to prevent drilling rigs from carrying out random drilling.
In turn, the Deputy Head of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority considered the "Tasheel" initiative a positive step to resolve accumulated problems and cases in courts, encourage and motivate citizens to comply with regulations and laws, and implement procedures to prevent random drilling.
