Sana'a: Acting Prime Minister Mohammad Miftah on Tuesday visited the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities, emphasizing the need to protect the country's water reserves from illegal drilling and reinforcing the importance of water as a national resource.
According to Yemen News Agency, on the first day back after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, Acting Prime Minister Mohammad Miftah assessed employee discipline at the General Authority for Water Resources. He highlighted the government's commitment to halting random drilling and ensuring the sustainable use of water resources.
Miftah stressed that water is Yemen's most valuable resource, requiring national strategy and public support. He called for stricter enforcement against illegal drilling, urging authorities to prosecute violators. The head of the authority, Eng. Hadi Quree'a, reaffirmed the government's commitment to updating the national water strategy in line with the country's vision and plans for sustainable water management.
