Sanaa: Acting Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Implementing the Integration and Modernization of Organizational Structures of Public Service Units Mohammed Miftah reviewed the progress of efforts to complete the ongoing integration process within the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. This review took place during his field visits to the entities included in the integration.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Miftah, accompanied by the Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development and Vice Chairman of the Integration Committee, Dr. Khalid Al-Hawali, and the Acting Director of the Prime Minister's Office and member of the Supreme Integration Committee, Fahd Al-Azzi, listened to a comprehensive presentation from the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi. Al-Saadi outlined the steps taken to integrate the educational sectors and discussed measures to unify organizational structures, financial and administrative systems, and human resources databases for the merged ministries: Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Technical Education and Vocational Training.
Minister Al-Saadi highlighted the field challenges facing the integration committees during the unification of educational pathways, including general, higher, and vocational education. He noted the efforts being made to develop solutions and overcome obstacles to ensure the smooth flow of administrative and academic work without overlap in tasks and responsibilities.
The Acting Prime Minister emphasized the importance of integrating the education sectors under one umbrella, representing a strategic step to guide educational policies with a unified vision extending from basic education to higher education and vocational training. This integration aims to meet the demands of development and the labor market.
He stated that the integration of the three ministries is intended to end fragmentation and duplication, focusing efforts and resources on building a strong and integrated educational system. Miftah regarded the education and scientific research sector as the cornerstone of the comprehensive administrative and institutional reform project, praising the coordination demonstrated by the technical and administrative staff at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. He directed that the pace of work be accelerated to complete the structural and functional integration matrix according to the approved timeline.
