Sana'a: The Acting Prime Minister, Al-Allamah Muhammad Muftah, inaugurated on Saturday the First Al-Ansar Innovation and Technology Exhibition, organized by Al-Ansar Foundation for Innovation and Capacity Development over the course of a week at Sana'a University.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Allamah Muftah, accompanied by the Deputy Head of the General Authority for Science, Research, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Houri, and the head of the foundation, Mustafa Al-Sayami, toured the exhibition and reviewed its various contents. The exhibition showcased diverse graduation projects and innovative works by students and researchers from the Faculties of Engineering and Computer Science at Sana'a University. The projects were supported and adopted by the Al-Ansar Foundation as part of its efforts to empower national talents-students and researchers-localize technology, and transform creative ideas into tangible projects that contribute to reducing import costs and supporting the knowledge economy through effective strategic partnerships.
The Acting Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Al-Ansar Foundation in organizing the exhibition, describing it as a promising and successful start given the quality of the practical innovations on display. He wished the foundation continued success and progress in this vital field.
He noted that all contributions made by students, researchers, engineers, and manufacturers-including the support and means provided to facilitate their achievements-represent an important accomplishment credited to the foundation.
Al-Allamah Muftah also called on philanthropists and those interested in scientific research, innovation, and capacity development to support the foundation, similar research centers, and specialized institutes, particularly applied research centers, in order to accelerate Yemen's scientific development.
He affirmed that Yemen, Allah willing, is heading toward an economic renaissance that can only be achieved through scientific advancement.
He said, 'Encouraging research centers and scientific institutions, and providing support to researchers, innovators, manufacturers, and inventors, will lead to a scientific renaissance that we are planning and working to achieve in practice.'
The Acting Prime Minister reiterated that the Government of Change and Construction gives this sector full attention through the Ministries of Education, Technical Education, Scientific Research, Communications and Information Technology, and Economy, Industry, and Investment.
He expressed confidence that the coming phases will witness a broad renaissance in Yemen supported by such projects and their development, urging researchers who developed outstanding innovations to remain patient in facing the challenges ahead, including marketing their ideas, innovations, and products.
He also directed the leadership of the foundation to link its activities with marketing and economic entities, including the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment and other relevant bodies, congratulating the innovators and participants on their outstanding efforts and achievements.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of foundation officials.
