Beirut: A meeting held on Sunday at the Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Ibb Governorate, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Amin Al-Warafi, discussed the authority's conditions and its urgent and essential needs to ensure the continued provision of medical and therapeutic services to patients.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Public Health and Population for the Planning Sector, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Sanani, the governorate, Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakel, Harith Al-Mulaiki, and the head of the authority, Dr. Abdulghani Ghabsha. The participants reviewed mechanisms for developing and improving healthcare services at the hospital authority across various aspects.
The meeting, which included the Deputy Head of the Authority, Dr. Mohammed Amer, and department heads, also discussed ways to ease the pressure on the authority resulting from the growing number of daily visitors and patients.
During the meeting, Al-Warafi affirmed the support of the local authority leadership for the hospital authority to enable it to continue providing medical and healthcare services to citizens. He praised the role of Al-Thawra Hospital Authority in improving the healthcare situation in the governorate and its continuous engagement with health-related issues serving the community.
Al-Warafi directed the formation of a joint team from the concerned entities to study the challenges facing the authority's operations and develop a practical program to meet its urgent and essential needs through cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the local authority. He urged all parties to assume responsibility and unify efforts to bridge gaps in the health, technical, and administrative work of the authority, address shortcomings, and correct imbalances that accompanied operations during the previous period.
Deputy Minister Al-Sanani stressed the Ministry of Health leadership's keenness to support Al-Thawra Hospital in Ibb to enable it to fulfill its role in providing healthcare and medical services to citizens. He noted that the ministry has a plan to reduce the burden on the hospital authority in the governorate, explaining that the plan focuses on activating the referral system between the authority, rural and central hospitals, as well as improving the performance of health centers in the districts.
Dr. Al-Sanani highlighted the importance of the meeting in discussing the authority's conditions and the efforts being exerted to provide healthcare services to patients despite the challenges faced during this exceptional period. He stressed the need to utilize all available resources, pay attention to medical and technical staff, address job inflation, focus on the classification and description of the medical services provided to ensure their improvement and development.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor for Health Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakel, addressed the healthcare situation in Ibb amid the current conditions and the scarcity of resources facing the governorate, alongside the increasing number of patients from both the governorate and neighboring governorates.
Earlier, the head of the Al-Thawra Hospital Authority in the governorate, Dr. Abdulghani Ghabsha, reviewed the main difficulties affecting performance and the areas in which the authority requires support, including financial aspects, qualification, training, medicines, and medical supplies, with the aim of improving services provided to patients.
