Acting Prime Minister Opens Yemen’s Bounty Festival in Sanaa

Sanaa:Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah inaugurated the third edition of the Yemen's Bounty Festival, organized by the Capital Secretariat through its Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit. The festival, held at Sanaa Unity Club, aims to showcase Yemen's rich agricultural and fisheries resources and features participation from 354 public and private-sector organizations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the six-day event is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources along with several relevant entities. It seeks to strengthen the presence of Yemeni products in markets, support the national economy, and encourage efforts towards achieving self-sufficiency.

During the opening, Miftah, along with other officials, toured the exhibition, viewing various agricultural products, industrial goods, and handicrafts produced by national entities. In a press statement, he praised the organization of the festival and highlighted the inclusion of agricultural machinery as a qualitative addition. Miftah emphasized the significance of the event in promoting local products and fostering industrial development in Yemen.

Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ammar Al-Karim described the festival as a crucial platform for showcasing local goods and strengthening their market presence. He stressed the event's role in encouraging farmers and promoting Yemeni products as alternatives to imports, particularly during what he termed as an unjust blockade on Yemen.

Capital Secretariat Mayor Hamoud Obbad highlighted the festival's importance in boosting agricultural production and connecting farmers with markets. He praised the collaborative efforts of the festival's organizers and participants in making the event a success, noting its role in serving the agricultural sector and promoting national industries.
