Sana'a: A meeting held on Tuesday in Sana'a approved a joint working mechanism aimed at strengthening coordination between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry in the Capital Secretariat and the local office of the General Authority for Zakat. The mechanism also seeks to address taxpayers' files in terms of submitting financial and zakat declarations in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting brought together the Chairman of the Board of the Capital Secretariat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ali Al-Hadi, the Vice Chairman of the Board, Mohammed Salah, and the Director General of the Capital Secretariat office of the General Authority for Zakat, Mohammed Al-Alfi. The meeting also approved a number of organizational procedures to ensure the accurate assessment of due zakat based on financial data and relevant legal provisions.
Both sides emphasized that this step comes within the framework of strengthening partnership between the public and private sectors, developing coordination mechanisms in a way that facilitates procedures and ensures compliance with zakat obligations in accordance with governing laws and regulations.
