Agricultural Land Rehabilitation Project in Wadi Dhamran Launched

Al-qabaita: Local authorities in the al-Qabaita district of Lahj governorate have launched a project to rehabilitate and restore agricultural lands in Wadi Dhamran, which were damaged by recent floods. The launch event was attended by key officials, including District Director Waheed al-Khader, Community Initiatives Director Ibrahim Hameem, and Agricultural Sector Official Sadiq Abdulhamid. The commencement of the project saw local authority equipment being deployed to level the land and remove debris, allowing farmers to resume their agricultural activities.

According to Yemen News Agency, District Director Waheed al-Khader stated that the initiative forms a part of a larger plan adopted by the governorate and district leadership aimed at supporting the agricultural sector. This plan is intended to assist farmers in mitigating the impacts of flood-related damage. He further highlighted the commitment of local authorities to alleviate citizens' hardships and enhance their livelihoods.

Residents and farmers in Wadi Dhamran have expressed their gratitude for the support offered, acknowledging the critical nature of the project. Restoring these lands is considered essential as they constitute the primary source of income for the local community.
