Mocha: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources for the Marketing Sector Mohsen Atef and Head of the Red Sea Fisheries Authority Hussein Al-Attas recently conducted inspections of production, landing, storage, and marketing facilities in the districts of Mocha and Al-Khokha.
According to Yemen News Agency, Atef and Al-Attas, accompanied by a technical team, assessed fish landing centers, refrigeration and storage facilities, and export quarantine stations. They also interacted with fishermen, marketers, and exporters to understand the challenges impacting their operations.
During discussions with local fishermen, Atef and Al-Attas focused on regulating the marketing of agricultural and fishery products. They explored improvements in collection, sorting, storage, refrigeration, processing, and export processes. Additionally, they addressed the regulation of livestock imports, livestock counts, and data compilation.
The inspections also evaluated the needs of export quarantine stations, emphasizing the requirements for achieving full operational readiness. Health and technical protocols essential for exported products were also reviewed.
The visit's objective was to assess the current conditions of the agricultural and fisheries sectors in the liberated districts and to identify the needs of production, marketing, and export facilities.
