Sana'a: On this day, April 22, multiple airstrikes and artillery shelling targeted several populated areas across Yemen, resulting in civilian casualties and significant property damage. These attacks, orchestrated by US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and their mercenaries, have been a recurring event on this date over the years.
According to Yemen News Agency, on April 22, 2016, four civilians, including a child, were killed in Bayda Governorate when mercenaries targeted a house in Al-Zahir District. The aggression continued with airstrikes on multiple locations including Jabal Ham, Al-Maton District, and Khab wa Ash-Sha'af District in Jawf Governorate. Taiz Governorate also witnessed extensive targeting in areas such as Al-Khalal and Al-Wazi'iyah.
In 2017, a similar pattern was observed, with civilian casualties reported in Ma'rib Governorate. The airstrikes targeted the home of Muhammad Ahmad Ghurab in Sirwah District, killing Muhammad Ali Al-Tawil and injuring three others. In Sa'dah Governorate, eleven civilians were injured in a raid on the Barkan area of Razih District. Taiz and Sana'a Governorates also experienced significant airstrikes.
The following year, in 2018, a family of five was killed in Hajjah Governorate due to airstrikes on their home in the Al-Jar area of Abs District. Additional airstrikes were reported across Ibb, Al Bayda, Hodeida, and Taiz Governorates, causing injuries and damaging property.
On April 22, 2019, Saudi missile and artillery shelling resulted in injuries and property damage in Saada Governorate. Airstrikes and shelling were also reported in Hodeida and Taiz Governorates, affecting civilian homes and infrastructure.
The attacks persisted in 2020, with coalition aircraft launching numerous raids on Ma'rib and Al-Jawf Governorates. Artillery shelling in Ad-Dhaher District caused material damage, highlighting the ongoing conflict's impact on civilian areas.
In 2021, coalition spy planes and artillery shelling targeted areas in Hodeida Governorate, while airstrikes were conducted in Saada and Marib Governorates. Similar patterns of aggression were reported in 2022, with spy aircraft launching strikes in Al Hudaydah Governorate and mercenaries fortifying combat positions in the region.
These events underscore the continued volatility and humanitarian impact of the conflict in Yemen, as civilians bear the brunt of the ongoing aggression.
