Sana’a: Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Abdullah Al-Ameer, along with Acting Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Sam Al-Bashiri, inspected the workflow at the laboratories of the Yemen Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control.

According to Yemen News Agency, during their visit, they received a briefing from the Authority’s Director, Abdullah Al-Athafi, and specialists. The briefing covered the operational mechanisms of petroleum derivatives testing laboratories, safety standards for domestic gas cylinders, and the work processes at the Energy Center for testing electrical materials. Additionally, they explored laboratories for testing jewelry, construction materials, and textiles.

Al-Ameer and Al-Bashiri acknowledged the advanced level of the laboratories and the vital services they provide in protecting consumers and ensuring the quality of goods entering local markets. They emphasized the significant role played by the Yemen Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control as a crucial line of defense for consumer protection. The ministers stressed the importance of ongoing development and modernization efforts in the laboratories to keep up with rapidly evolving product technologies and to build a comprehensive regulatory system that ensures the circulation of safe products in local markets.
