Al-Bayda Celebrates 14th Annual Mass Wedding for 38 Couples in Al-Arsh District

Al-bayda: The residents of Al-Faqih area in Al-Arsh District, Al-Bayda province, marked the 14th annual mass wedding, celebrating the union of 38 grooms and brides. The event was organized by the Al-Faqih Cooperative Association for Mass Weddings with strong support from the local community.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Bayda Governor Abdullah Idris extended his congratulations to the newlywed couples, highlighting the importance of this initiative in promoting communal harmony. He pointed out that mass weddings are pivotal in facilitating marriages, reducing financial burdens, and minimizing extravagant expenses, thereby stabilizing marital life and reinforcing social bonds.

The celebration saw the presence of notable figures including Deputy Governor Nasser Al-Aji, President of Al-Bayda University Dr. Ahmed Al-Arami, and officials from the agricultural sector such as Engineer Mohammed Al-Haidari and guidance officer Ahmed Al-Hamzi.

Fawzi Al-Ghadri, head of the Al-Faqih Cooperative Association for Mass Weddings, emphasized that this annual tradition aims to alleviate the financial burden on young couples and counter the excessive spending often associated with individual weddings in the district.

Mohammed Al-Nusairi, speaking on behalf of the grooms, expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee for orchestrating a successful and joyous event.

The celebration was enriched with poetry recitations, cultural performances, and traditional dances that highlighted the rich customs and heritage of the Al-Arsh region. The event was attended by members of the local authority, executive officials, and social figures, reflecting the community's collective spirit.
