Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted scattered thunderstorms across parts of several governorates, along with strong winds over the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlighted that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected to affect parts of the governorates of Dhal'a, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Amran, Mahwit, Hajjah, and the highlands of Abyan and Lahj. Additionally, scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are anticipated over parts of the governorates of Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Bayda, Sana'a, Saada, and the Tihama Plain.
The center also indicated the likelihood of strong to very strong winds impacting the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts. Recent measurements from meteorological stations show rainfall amounts over the last 24 hours as follows: Dhamar received 45.8 mm, Ibb-As-Saddah 28.6 mm, Sana'a 13.9 mm, Sa'dah 12 mm, and Al Bayda 11.6 mm.
There have been reports of scattered rains over parts of the mountainous highlands and interior plateaus. The center has issued warnings to citizens regarding thunderstorms and advised against being in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall, urging people to take shelter from thunderstorms.
Additionally, the center has cautioned seagoers, fishermen, and ship captains about rough seas and high waves in the areas surrounding the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
