Al-bayda: The Head of the Al-Bayda Governorate Appeals Prosecution, Judge Ibrahim Al-Dailami, has ordered the release of 161 prisoners on the occasion of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

According to Yemen News Agency, those released met the conditions for pardon of the remaining period of their prison sentences, demonstrated good conduct during their incarceration, and had no outstanding private rights owed to others.

The decision also included releases on guarantees in cases still under investigation, as well as detainees held in police stations due to insufficient evidence. The releases followed inspection visits last week to the central and remand correctional facilities, detention centers run by the prosecution and police in the governorate center, as well as in Rada’a, Mukayras, and Al-Sawma’ah, to review cases eligible for release, in implementation of directives from the Revolution Leader, the President of the Supreme Political Council, and the Attorney General.

Judge Al-Dailami added that the inspection included listening to prisoners, obtaining reports from prison administrations, and verifying records to ensure their accuracy. Instructions were also issued to expedite case procedures, follow up on cases referred to courts, and strengthen training, vocational rehabilitation, and behavioral reform programs for inmates in both correctional and remand facilities.

The inspection was attended by the deputy prosecutors of Al-Bayda, Judge Ashraf Al-Murtadha; Rada’a, Judge Abdullah Al-Taisi; Mukayras and Al-Sawma’ah, Judge Ali Al-Haidari; as well as representatives of security, investigations, and prisons, Judge Abdul Salam Awadh.
