Al-Bukhaiti and Mahdi Discuss Media Collaboration to Boost Tax and Customs Awareness

Sana'a: A meeting held in the capital Sana'a on Monday between Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti and Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi discussed aspects of cooperation and joint coordination to highlight the Authority's efforts in the media.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting addressed mechanisms for strengthening media partnerships to keep pace with developments within the Authority and contribute to raising public awareness of the importance of adhering to tax and customs regulations, combating smuggling, and supporting awareness and media programs aimed at protecting the national economy and enhancing public revenues.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening joint work and enhancing communication with various media outlets to serve the public interest.

The Acting Minister of Information praised the roles played by the Tax and Customs Authority in protecting the economy and combating smuggling. He noted the Ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Tax and Customs Authority and providing the necessary media support to highlight its efforts and achievements. He emphasized the importance of integrated roles between official institutions and the media in raising public awareness, supporting national campaigns aimed at combating smuggling and protecting the national economy, and delivering awareness messages to all segments of society.

The Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority indicated that the media is a key partner in the success of development and reform programs. He explained that the current phase requires a professional media discourse that contributes to enhancing tax and customs awareness, supporting the state's efforts in combating smuggling, and establishing a culture of compliance with laws, which will positively impact the protection of the economy.
