Al-dhale': Head of the Al-Dhale'a Branch of the Grievances Redress Authority, Judge Abdulrahman Al-Wajeeh, conducted an inspection on Monday to assess the conditions of prisoners in Damt and Juban districts, coinciding with the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Judge Al-Wajeeh was accompanied by several officials, including Head of the Governorate Zakat Office Ahmed Al-Duhyani, Damt Security Director Hashim Al-Sharif, Jibn Security Director Rizq Amer, and Head of the Prisons and Prisoners Department at the Authority's branch, Jabr Al-Qadri. The delegation, which also included representatives of the prosecution, reviewed prison conditions and examined inmates' files and cases as part of efforts to address their situations and alleviate their suffering following legal procedures and directives issued on the occasion.
Judge Al-Wajeeh stated that the visit was conducted in response to directives from the Presidency and the leadership of the Grievances Redress Authority to inspect conditions within the governorate's prisons. The visit aimed to review cases needing resolution or release, with a focus on releasing detainees involved in non-serious cases and those involving public rights, in line with applicable laws and judicial procedures. Additionally, the conditions of debtors and other cases requiring intervention and resolution were examined.
The head of the authority's branch emphasized that the visit reflects the humanitarian aspect of commemorating the Prophet's birthday. It aims to promote values of mercy, solidarity, and benevolence, while assisting those facing hardships to overcome their circumstances within the legal framework.
