Al-hodeidah: The Al-Ghomari Martyr Football Championship commenced Sunday afternoon in Al-Salif District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate. The tournament is organized by Ras Issa Youth Club, under the patronage of the governorate's leadership and the supervision of the Office of Youth and Sports.
According to Yemen News Agency, the championship follows a group-stage format and features 12 football teams representing various areas of the district. It is part of community activities held in honor of Martyr Lieutenant General Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari, recognizing his national role and contributions to strengthening the army's defensive capabilities.
The tournament aims to commemorate the martyr's legacy, celebrating his lifelong dedication and sacrifice for God and the homeland, and his martyrdom in one of the most sacred battles in defense of Gaza and the Palestinian cause - the central cause of the nation.
The opening match between Al-Sadd and Al-Salif Youth ended in a goalless draw (0-0), attended by a large official and public audience.
