Al-hodeida: The Executive Office of Al-Hodeida Province convened on Monday under the leadership of Governor Abdullah Atifi to deliberate on strategic development priorities for the forthcoming phase. The meeting focused on enhancing service performance and mobilizing public support in response to prevailing challenges.
According to Yemen News Agency, the assembly included key figures such as Governorate Undersecretaries Mohammed Halisi, Ali Qushar, and Ali Al-Kabari, alongside executive office directors. The discussions centered on addressing obstacles in service sectors, improving local resource management, and activating agricultural value chain initiatives. The team also assessed progress on afforestation efforts and the deployment of the second phase of "Al-Aqsa Flood" programs.
In addition, the meeting scrutinized the progress in crafting the administrative agenda for the year 1447 AH, adherence to central directives, and phased implementation strategies. Performance and achievement reports for the year 1446 AH were evaluated, particularly focusing on service and administrative performance metrics across different sectors.
The assembly tackled efforts to mitigate acute watery diarrhea in affected regions, underscoring the need for improved coordination among health, water, and sanitation authorities. Enhancing the health sector's rapid response capabilities and prioritizing health infrastructure upgrades in key areas were also emphasized.
Governor Atifi underscored the necessity of invigorating institutional performance and devising transparent, accountable strategies to meet the evolving needs of citizens. He highlighted the significance of the agricultural sector in ensuring national food security and called for addressing barriers to rural projects to boost production and improve livelihoods.
The governor further advocated for the expansion of afforestation projects across districts and encouraged community-driven initiatives to yield direct environmental, health, and developmental benefits. He stressed the importance of updating monitoring and evaluation tools, boosting executive efficiency, and aligning efforts in planning, execution, and follow-up to ensure sustainable service enhancement.
Mohammed Halisi, Undersecretary for Services, advocated for moving beyond traditional management practices and adopting contemporary planning and execution frameworks focused on oversight, performance improvement, and optimal resource use. He emphasized that successful experiences from some offices should be leveraged while addressing current deficiencies with responsibility and teamwork.
Ali Qushar, Undersecretary for Culture and Media, emphasized the need to continue public mobilization and awareness programs in districts to bolster societal awareness of national issues and fortify public resilience against ongoing challenges. He called for greater participation in "Al-Aqsa Flood" training sessions and improving their implementation to build awareness, enhance capacities, and reinforce the home front.
The meeting also included discussions on directives from Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badreddin Al-Houthi during his engagement with the Government of Change and Construction, along with presentations of reports from various service offices and agencies.
