Sana'a: The Endowments and Guidance Office in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, in collaboration with the Scholars and Learners Unit, the Qur'anic Culture Unit, and the local authority, organized a speech event on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the eminent Islamic scholar, Sayyed Badr Al-Din Amir Al-Din Al-Houthi.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by Governor Abdullah Atefi and First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri, who described the commemoration as an important occasion to recall the pivotal role of the late scholar as a religious and intellectual authority. Al-Bishri emphasized that the scholar's journey served as a strong barrier against attempts to erase the nation's faith-based identity by strengthening adherence to Qur'anic culture and instilling values of dignity and resistance to global forces.
Al-Bishri further noted that Sayyed Badr Al-Din bin Amir Al-Din Al-Houthi was a voice of truth who courageously confronted ideological and intellectual projects that sought to undermine Yemen's social fabric. The event also featured Deputy Governors Mohammed Hulaysi and Ali Al-Kabari, with Sheikh Ali Adhabi, Vice President of Dar Al-Uloom Al-Sharia University, highlighting the late scholar's advocacy for unity and rejection of division.
Abdulrahman Al-Warafi, Director of Guidance at the Endowments and Guidance Authority, and Sheikh Ali Somal, head of the Scholars and Learners Unit, described the late scholar's life as a model of asceticism and dedication. They stressed the importance of following the approach of devoted scholars in educating and guiding people, while maintaining a strong connection with the Holy Qur'an.
