Al-hodeidah: Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Abdullah Atifi, inspected the operations at Bin Abbas Fishing Port and its landing center, reviewing the performance and services provided to local fishermen. He also visited the Bin Abbas water project.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Atifi, accompanied by the Deputy Governor for Northern Districts Affairs, Ghalib Hamza, and the Chairman of the General Authority for Red Sea Fisheries, Hussein Al-Atas, evaluated the level of services offered to fishermen at the port. They received briefings from the center's management on fishing activities, urgent needs, and essential services that contribute to improving fishery operations, as well as facilitating unloading and marketing.
They also reviewed the Bin Abbas water project, noting its importance in serving the local community and those working in the fisheries sector, while assessing the overall service situation in the area.
Governor Atifi directed the concerned authorities to promptly begin technical studies for paving the road leading to Bin Abbas Port to ensure smooth transportation. He emphasized the need to complete the network integration of the port's automated system to enhance oversight and improve administrative and financial performance.
He highlighted that the local authority gives significant attention to the fisheries sector, recognizing it as a key pillar of the national economy and a primary source of livelihood for thousands of families. He stressed the importance of concerted efforts to overcome all challenges faced by fishermen and to provide a supportive environment for the growth of this vital sector.
Governor Atifi affirmed that developing the infrastructure of fishing ports and landing centers is part of the governorate's plans to strengthen community resilience and improve essential services, noting that Bin Abbas Port is a crucial artery that requires all technical and engineering capabilities for efficient operation. Accompanying him on the visit were the Governorate's Director of Public Works, Engineer Mohammed Muthanna, and the Director of Bin Abbas Fishing Landing Center, Eyad Atini.
