Scholar Miftah Participates in Sixth Awareness Meeting with Writers, Content Creators, and Activists

Sanaa: The Acting Prime Minister, scholar Mohammed Miftah, participated in the sixth awareness meeting with writers, content creators, and activists, organized by the General Zakat Authority under the slogan "Together to Create Awareness." According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Prime Minister praised the efforts made by the Zakat Authority since its inception and the projects it implements on the Yemeni scene and their social impact. He highlighted the importance of distributing zakat funds through projects aligned with the channels mentioned in the Book of God, ensuring transparency and accountability within the Authority. Miftah expressed the need for awareness among writers, content creators, and activists regarding the Authority's activities to prevent misinformation and lies that target successful initiatives. He emphasized the importance of field engagement rather than relying solely on digital platforms to assess public and social activities. The Acting Prime Minister also addressed the historic al self-reliance of Yemeni society, which has shifted in recent decades towards dependence on external aid. He underscored the role of the September 21 Revolution in restoring dignity and honor to the Yemeni people, focusing on training and rehabilitation to promote a dignified life, with zakat playing a key role in this area. In his remarks, Miftah condemned aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran by Zionist forces, aligning Yemen's stance with Iran, Palestine, and Lebanon in confronting Zionist threats. He reiterated Yemen's solidarity with these nations and their right to defend their lands and restore affected territories. Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashatan, Head of the General Zakat Authority, reviewed the efforts and projects of the Authority since its inception, emphasizing its role in establishing the Islamic obligation of zakat. He noted that nearly one million and two hundred thousand families are registered as beneficiaries, highlighting the need for community awareness and social solidarity. D eputy Head of the Zakat Authority, Ali Al-Saqqaf, stressed the importance of the meeting to clarify zakat projects and their beneficiaries. He detailed the financial scope of Ramadan projects, stressing the community's role in supporting these initiatives and dispelling rumors about the misuse of zakat funds. The meeting, attended by several key figures, featured a documentary film showcasing the projects and achievements of the General Zakat Authority since its inception.
