Al-hodeidah: Governor Abdullah Atifi chaired a meeting on Monday focusing on the launch of rural water projects funded by the General Authority for Zakat. The initiative targets needy districts in Al-Lahya, Al-Zahra, and Al-Qanawis.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed technical plans for these projects and explored ways to ensure the fair distribution of zakat resources based on actual needs. Governor Atifi highlighted the importance of prioritizing low-cost, high-impact water projects to reach the most deprived villages and rural communities.
Officials at the meeting emphasized the need to update beneficiary data to ensure transparency and transform zakat support into sustainable development. The projects aim to utilize solutions tailored to rural areas, minimizing costs while benefiting the largest number of villages and communities in the targeted districts.
