Al-Mahwit Crowned Champion of Cultural Competitions Held Alongside National Judo Championship

Dhamar: The General Administration of Cultural and Social Activities at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar Governorate, organized a cultural competition and an awareness lecture for the governorate teams participating in the National Judo Championship.

According to Yemen News Agency, the championship is held for the Martyr Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari Cup, organized by the General Judo Federation under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and funded by the Youth, Adolescents, and Sports Care Fund. Teams from the governorates of Taiz, Aden, Dhamar, Lahj, Hodeidah, and Al-Mahwit took part in the event held in Dhamar.

The Al-Mahwit team won first place in the cultural competition, following preliminary rounds in which the teams of Taiz, Al-Mahwit, and Hodeidah outperformed the teams of Dhamar, Lahj, and Aden. A cultural lecture was also delivered to participants, highlighting the importance of integrating sports activities with cultural engagement and the role of youth and athletes in promoting awareness and national and religious values.

At the end of the event, Member of the Shura Council Hassan Abdulrazzaq, Deputy Minister of Youth for the Sports Sector Ali Hadban, and several sports officials honored the Al-Mahwit team with the championship cup and a cash prize.
