Al-Mahwit Discusses Expansion of Vocational Education in Al-Madinah and Al-Khabt Districts

Sana'a: A meeting held on Sunday in Al-Mahwit Governorate discussed mechanisms for expanding vocational education and establishing new vocational departments in a number of schools across the governorate, in a way that meets labor market needs and accommodates graduates of basic education.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting brought together officials from the Education sector in the governorate, Ibrahim Al-Zain, and the Technical Education and Vocational Training sector, Dr. Abdulmalik Mazraq. They reviewed a number of proposals and mechanisms aimed at strengthening vocational education as one of the important educational pathways in preparing qualified national cadres. The focus was on enabling students to acquire practical and professional skills that contribute to developing their capabilities and meeting development and labor market requirements.

The meeting approved the opening of an engine winding department at Al-Sinwar School in the city of Al-Mahwit. Additionally, a computer department will be established in Al-Khabt District, which aims to expand enrollment opportunities in vocational education. These initiatives seek to provide qualitative educational options for basic education graduates to continue their studies in vocational specializations that meet the needs of the community.

The participants stressed the importance of completing the necessary technical and administrative procedures for opening the new departments according to approved plans. This effort is intended to contribute to improving technical and vocational education, thereby providing promising educational and professional opportunities for young people.
