Hodeida Cultural Evening Commemorates Imam Hussein’s Martyrdom

Sana'a: A cultural evening was held on Sunday in the city axis brigades of Hodeida province to mark the anniversary of Imam Hussein's martyrdom. The event was organized in coordination with the Mobilization Forces and the local authority in Al-Hawk district.

According to Yemen News Agency, First Deputy Governor Ahmed Al-Bishri emphasized that the commemoration is both a religious and educational occasion. It reinforces values such as dignity, steadfastness, and adherence to principles embodied in the Karbala uprising. Al-Bishri remarked that the occasion serves as a source of inspiration for resilience and commitment to just causes.

Al-Bishri further noted the ongoing significance of Imam Hussein's remembrance within the Islamic community. He highlighted the importance of confronting injustice and preserving religious and historical values, linking the occasion to contemporary regional issues, particularly the support for the Palestinian cause.

Major General Abdullah Al-Ezzi, Commander of the Hodeida Axis, stated that the Ashura commemoration strengthens awareness, promotes steadfastness, and encourages resistance against foreign domination and external pressures. He described Imam Hussein's legacy as a model of sacrifice and opposition to injustice.

Sheikh Ali Somal, head of the Scholars and Learners Unit in the governorate, discussed the historical and religious dimensions of the Husseini revolution. He stressed its role in promoting awareness, faith, and commitment to moral principles.

Representing local tribal leaders, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Almani spoke about the historical support of Yemeni tribes for national causes. He noted that these tribes continue to draw inspiration from the values of dignity, loyalty, and steadfastness associated with Imam Hussein.

The event also included poetry and cultural presentations that highlighted the legacy of Imam Hussein and themes of sacrifice, perseverance, and resistance to oppression.
