Al-mahwit: Governor Haneen Qatina met with Deputy Transport Minister for Roads, Eng. Nabil Al-Hayfi, to discuss maintaining and rehabilitating main roads in the governorate. The meeting addressed damage to vital roads and reviewed current and future maintenance plans.
According to Yemen News Agency, attendees included advisors from the Road Maintenance Fund and officials from the Roads Foundation. They prioritized interventions based on available resources, focusing on key transportation streets and the Republican Hospital road in Al-Mahwit city. Governor Qatina stressed the need to intensify efforts and coordinate with the Fund to ensure sustainable maintenance, giving top priority to main roads for their direct impact on transport and local development.
Eng. Al-Hayfi outlined the Fund's ongoing projects, including routine maintenance on Al-Mahwit-Al-Qanawus and Al-Mahwit-Sana'a roads. He emphasized continued cooperation to overcome challenges. Separately, the local authority honored Eng. Al-Hayfi and several engineers for their role in successfully executing road maintenance projects in the governorate.
