Al-mahwit: A meeting held on Monday in Al-Mahwit Governorate, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Dr. Ali Al-Zaykam, focused on strategies to support and activate summer center activities across the governorate's districts. The aim is to enhance their educational and instructional role and accommodate the largest possible number of students during the summer vacation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included Deputy Governors Abdul Salam Al-Dhamari and Hammoud Shamlan, executive office directors, local council members, sheikhs, dignitaries, and social figures. The discussions reviewed the level of preparation and readiness of the summer centers and explored mechanisms to develop their programs and activities to meet the needs of children and youth.
Dr. Al-Zaykam emphasized the crucial role of summer centers in developing students' abilities, refining their academic and cultural skills, and maximizing their free time for personal and community benefit. He highlighted the value of summer courses in building an informed generation equipped with knowledge, positive values, and the ability to actively contribute to their community and confront various challenges.
He stressed the importance of approaching summer courses with a strong sense of responsibility, particularly in promoting Quranic culture and making productive use of the summer break for learning and properly nurturing children.
The Secretary-General also urged parents to encourage their children to enroll in summer courses, recognizing their effective role in developing skills, refining abilities, and enhancing knowledge in scientific, cultural, and behavioral aspects. He highlighted the participation of children and youth in these courses as a fundamental pillar in building balanced personalities and strengthening their faith-based and national values. This participation, he noted, contributes to protecting them from deviance and destructive ideas, while channeling their energies toward serving society and reinforcing its cohesion.
Ismail Sharaf Al-Din, the governorate's Mobilization Official, underscored the tasks related to organizing coordination among supervisory committees, monitoring the performance of summer courses, mobilizing community resources and capabilities to support them, and directly overseeing the implementation of activities and programs. These efforts aim to ensure the achievement of the desired educational objectives, develop youth capacities, and enhance their sense of responsibility and discipline.
