Taiz: The Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, inspected the ongoing construction of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Taiz University branch in Al-Hawban. This project was initiated under the directive of Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Masawi was joined by Deputy Governor Nabil Al-Tamimi during the site visit, where they were briefed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Amiri, the official overseeing the university branch. Dr. Al-Amiri reported that the project is currently 70% complete and highlighted plans to launch new academic programs in the next academic year. These programs include pharmacy, laboratories, nursing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and computer studies.
Emphasizing the need for these new academic offerings, Al-Masawi noted the significance of addressing the educational demands posed by the region’s high population and student density. He urged collaboration to overcome the challenges faced by the university branch and to enhance the quality of academic education in the governorate.
Additionally, Dr. Al-Amiri provided a detailed report on the existing colleges and departments at the university branch, as well as the obstacles confronting academic education in Al-Hawban.
