Popular Forces Union Condemns Offense Against Holy Quran, Urges Unified Islamic Response

Sana'a: The Yemeni Popular Forces Union condemned in the strongest terms the crime of offending the Holy Quran committed by the American Jake Lang.

According to Yemen News Agency, the union considered in a statement that this crime is a flagrant and direct aggression against Islam and Muslims, explaining that this act contradicts humanitarian and religious values and international laws. It affirmed that such crimes would not have been repeated and continued without official American cover and the hostility methodology practiced by the US administration against Islam, the Islamic nation, and its sanctities under the pretext of freedom.

The statement pointed out that this crime represents a blatant challenge to the feelings of Muslims everywhere, an act reflecting ignorance and hatred of Islam and Muslims, aiming to incite unrest and enmity among peoples.

The union called on the governments and peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations to unify their stance to confront these crimes and violations by all means, affirming that silence gives the enemies more audacity and transgression against sanctities. It also stressed that the Holy Quran is a symbol of Muslim unity, and any offense against it is an offense against every Muslim, calling on living consciences in the world to assume their responsibilities in protecting sanctities and taking measures to stop these provocative acts.
