Al-mukalla: The teams of Al-Mina'a Aden and Shab Hadramout have successfully advanced to the final of the Republic Cup Basketball Tournament following their victories against Al-Ahli and Wahda Sana'a, respectively. The final phase of the tournament is being hosted in Al-Mukalla, Hadramout Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, both Al-Mina'a and Shab Hadramout dominated their respective groups, finishing with flawless records. Al-Mina'a led Group B, while Shab Hadramout topped Group A. This achievement guarantees their spots in the final, organized by the Yemen Basketball Federation.
In Group B's last match, Al-Mina'a secured their place in the final by defeating Al-Ahli Sana'a 79-55. The game took place at the Shab Hadramout Club Indoor Hall, where Al-Mina'a controlled the first two quarters, establishing a substantial lead. Although Al-Ahli Sana'a attempted a comeback in the third quarter, Al-Mina'a solidified their win in the final quarter. Al-Mina'a's Nasser Farhan was recognized as the Best Player of the Match.
Shab Hadramout's path to the final was confirmed with a decisive 86-49 victory over Wahda Sana'a. The home team maintained dominance throughout the match, with Shab Hadramout's Amr Al-Jariri earning the Best Player of the Match title.
The upcoming final will be conducted in a best-of-three format, requiring the winning team to secure two victories to claim the championship title. In other tournament matches, Al-Tilal Aden achieved a narrow win over Say'un, while Al-Mukalla defeated Shibam Hadramout.
The tournament saw the participation of prominent figures, including the Yemen Basketball Federation Vice President and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee, Anwar Abdul Daem, and other federation officials. The final standings for both groups were confirmed, with Shab Hadramout and Al-Mina'a leading their respective groups.
