Hodeida: The General Authority of Zakat in Hodeida governorate has initiated an economic empowerment project in the al-Qanawis district, specifically targeting 50 low-income families with a budget of 75 million Yemeni riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project is designed to help beneficiary families move from dependence on aid to achieving self-sufficiency through income-generating activities. It offers soft loans for small livestock projects, which include purchasing, breeding, and fattening animals.
Officials highlighted that this initiative is part of a larger effort to create sustainable income sources and improve the living conditions of vulnerable households. The selection process for beneficiaries involved a screening procedure to ensure that support is allocated to families in genuine need.
Local authorities have expressed their support for the project, emphasizing its potential impact on strengthening livestock production, supporting rural livelihoods, and contributing to economic stability within the district.
