Al-Quds Affairs Researcher Highlights Severe Situation at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Al-quds: Dr. Jamal Amro, a researcher in Al-Quds affairs, has confirmed that the current situation at Al-Aqsa Mosque and in the city of occupied Al-Quds is the worst it has been in over 75 years due to measures implemented by the Israeli occupation authorities. According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Amro explained in a statement that the attacks and complete desecration of all holy sites in Palestine, as well as Palestinian lands across various areas, are continuously increasing at the hands of the Israeli occupation. He highlighted that the checkpoints established by Israeli authorities have become places of harassment for Palestinians, significantly hindering their movement between cities, camps, and villages, thus making travel extremely difficult. Dr. Amro stated that the situation in occupied Al-Quds is particularly severe, especially the threat facing Al-Aqsa Mosque, akin to the situation at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron where Islamic administration was removed. He noted that Al-Aqsa Mosque is under Isr aeli military-style control, complicating access for Palestinians who must navigate numerous rifles, checkpoints, and inspections. The researcher further noted that the situation has deteriorated in recent days with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan. The Israeli occupation authorities have prevented hundreds of Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, issuing six-month bans to stop them from performing prayers and religious rites. Dr. Amro emphasized that the purported religious freedom is non-existent, as Muslims face significant difficulties in reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, with residents from the West Bank and Gaza unable to enter Al-Quds. He continued to describe worsening conditions, including inspections and violations around Al-Aqsa Mosque, arrests, and mistreatment of detainees in Israeli prisons. Dr. Amro pointed out the presence of religious Zionist extremism and the attacks on Muslims, particularly merchants. Moreover, visitors to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City are subjected to searches at the gates and entrances, reflecting a worsening policy. Despite Palestine's difficult conditions over the past 75 years, the situation has now become more dire. The Israeli entity does not recognize the Palestinian Authority or the Islamic Waqf administration, and the Jordanian custodianship has been severely undermined. Dr. Amro concluded by stating that the situation in Palestine is extremely serious, with Israeli violations occurring openly before the world without any action taken. He criticized the weak role of Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the Palestinian Authority, in changing this harsh reality. He noted that the Israeli entity disregards their opinions, international covenants, agreements, and treaties it has signed.
