Sana'a: A speech event was held in the capital Sana'a on Tuesday to commemorate the Prophet's birthday. The event was organized by Al-Rashid Smart University in cooperation with the University Student Forum.

According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulkarim Al-Dahhak, Director General of Activities in the Higher Education Sector, emphasized that the Yemeni people celebrate the Prophet's birthday to recall his life, his example, and the values and principles he embodied. Al-Dahhak highlighted the important role of universities and students in raising awareness and understanding, and in arming themselves with science and knowledge to confront the challenges and dangers facing the nation.

He noted that enemies are attempting to obscure and erase the symbols and leaders of the nation, foremost among them the Prophet, and to associate them with other figures. Al-Dahhak addressed the Yemeni people's support for the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic call, and their role in the Islamic conquests, noting that the anniversary of the Prophet's birth this year comes as the Yemeni people are writing epics of steadfastness, resilience, and a deep connection to the Prophet, both in their approach and conduct, drawing from his noble life the meanings of honor, dignity, and sacrifice in supporting the oppressed and the just causes of the nation, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.

Al-Dahhak called on university staff and all university students to actively participate in the central event at Al-Sabeen Square on the twelfth of Rabi' al-Awwal. For his part, activist and researcher in Quranic culture, Yahya Abu Awada, pointed out that Yemen's leading role in commemorating the Prophet's birth reflects expressions of joy, reverence, and veneration for the Prophet, and strengthens the close connection with God, the Quran, and the Prophet.

Abu Awada emphasized that the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday comes this year as the Muslim world faces a more sensitive and perilous period, undergoing a profound and arduous transformation amidst numerous events, wars, conflicts, and problems, in addition to the cultural, intellectual, moral, political, social, and economic crises it is experiencing. He addressed the current global crisis, brought about by the dominance of tyrannical and arrogant powers that have deviated from the path of the prophets and messengers, operating on the world stage with their diabolical projects and agendas, seeking to spread vice and moral decay among humanity, ultimately aiming to corrupt the environment and climate.

At the event, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Faisal Al-Zubairi, and his deputy, Abdullah Al-Wazir, the University Rector, Dr. Abdulatif Haider, stressed the importance of making the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday an occasion for spiritual renewal, refining values, restoring direction, and making the noble character of the Prophet a guiding principle for life.
