Al-Sabeen District Hosts Celebrations for Prophet Muhammad’s Birth Anniversary

Sana'a: Al-Sabeen District in the Capital Sana'a marked the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birth by organizing various events, meetings, and celebratory evenings expressing love, loyalty, and reverence for the Prophet.

According to Yemen News Agency, the events were organized by offices and sectors concerned with tourism, economy, industry, finance, community initiatives, technical education, as well as workers and vendors at Shumaila Market, residents of several neighborhoods, and Sumayya School.

The celebrations were widely attended by official and community figures, including First Deputy Mayor Khaled al-Madani, several deputy mayors, local leaders, executive office directors, staff, sheikhs, social figures, and neighborhood representatives.

The events featured speeches and various activities highlighting social and official awareness, responsibility in commemorating the occasion, strengthening adherence to the Prophet, the Holy Quran, and promoting values of brotherhood, solidarity, cooperation, unity, and faith-based identity.

Speakers highlighted the significance of recalling the Prophet's life, values, principles, and following his example in all aspects of life. They stressed the importance of marking his birth anniversary and expressing joy in a manner befitting the occasion's significance to Yemenis.

They also stressed the Muslim nation's need to sincerely return to Allah, the Holy Quran, and the final Prophet, to follow his teachings and exemplary life in confronting challenges and what they described as plots targeting the nation.

The speakers called for broad participation in Mawlid activities and urged people to attend the main celebration to be held at Al-Sabeen Square on Rabi' al-Awwal 12.

The celebrations included poems, chants, performances, displays of traditional folklore, nasheeds, and praises of the Prophet, drawing wide public participation.

A cultural seminar was also held in Al-Sabeen District as part of preparations for the Prophet's birth anniversary. At the seminar, Deputy Chairman of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, scholar Fouad Naji, highlighted the importance of the religious occasion to Yemenis, their longstanding attachment to and support for the Prophet.

Naji also discussed the historical role of Yemenis in supporting the Prophet, Islam, and Muslims, and urged greater efforts to organize preparatory activities, express love, reverence for the Prophet, and uphold his values, ethics, and exemplary life.

He called for broad public mobilization to participate in the main celebration on Rabi' al-Awwal 12, reflecting love, loyalty, and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad.
