Hodeida: The Board of Directors of Al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Hodeida held its regular meeting, chaired by Board Chairman and Authority President Dr. Khaled Suhail. The meeting focused on reviewing the hospital's performance, financial, and operational reports, as well as identifying requirements needed to enhance medical and treatment services.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting discussed performance indicators for the first half of 2026. This included the results related to the implementation of plans and programs aimed at developing health services and improving operational efficiency across the authority's facilities. The board approved the authority's performance report for this period, alongside the financial report and balance sheet for fiscal year 2021, acknowledging achievements in medical, administrative, and financial fields.
The board also reviewed the implementation of health projects, particularly focusing on the furnishing project for the major surgery building. They directed relevant authorities to provide necessary funding to complete these projects, which would contribute to the expansion of surgical and specialized services. Emphasizing the importance of expanding bed capacity and strengthening diagnostic and treatment services, the board discussed improving the readiness of medical departments to meet growing needs and enhance healthcare delivery.
On the financial front, the board addressed the impact of deducting 30 percent of the authority's current support allocations for the investment program. This deduction affects the provision of medicines, medical supplies, fuel, and essential operational services needed for maintaining the authority's work. The board called for contacting concerned entities to restore the deducted amounts, aiming to improve financial and operational stability and ensure the continued provision of medical services to citizens efficiently.
The board further emphasized the need to provide resources required to support operational performance, continue development plans, enhance work efficiency, and improve the quality of healthcare services. During the meeting, Dr. Suhail praised the efforts of medical, administrative, and technical staff in improving healthcare services, underscoring the importance of teamwork to advance performance and raise the level of care provided to patients and visitors.
Dr. Suhail stated that the authority is working according to a development vision aimed at strengthening infrastructure, expanding specialized services, and increasing the readiness of health departments and facilities to meet growing needs. He stressed the importance of completing priority health projects and highlighted the need for strengthening administrative and financial aspects, improving resource utilization efficiency, and continuing development programs that contribute to raising institutional performance and improving the quality of medical and treatment services.
