Amran:The Board of Directors of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Amran Governorate convened today under the leadership of Governor Dr. Faisal Ja'man to discuss the fund's current performance and explore methods to enhance cleaning and improvement services across the governorate and its districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed the fund's strategic plan, focusing on improving performance in cleaning zones and strengthening coordination between the fund's leadership and district branches. This effort aims to ensure the regularity of waste collection and transfer operations, targeting various areas effectively.
The discussion also included the preparation of a program and performance budget for 2027, aligning with work requirements to boost the efficiency of cleaning and improvement services. The meeting addressed the enhancement of resource utilization for implementing priority projects and programs.
Among the topics covered was the strategy for fencing the Al-Qaflah landfill, a key site for waste management, and expanding waste removal operations in Houth, Bani Suraim, and Khamr districts to improve service levels and decrease waste accumulation in public areas.
The meeting approved the exploration of procedures for acquiring and installing a solar energy system for the fund's building, in line with a shift toward renewable energy sources. Additionally, it sanctioned the provision of a "Zizo" dump truck to the fund's branch in Houth District to enhance waste collection and removal operations.
Governor Ja'man emphasized the need to advance work mechanisms in cleaning zones and improve field performance to meet citizens' needs and support urban growth. He highlighted the importance of organizing waste removal processes and setting schedules for collection and transport, while enhancing direct collection from streets and neighborhoods.
The governor called for a collaborative approach involving fund leadership, cleaning workers, local authorities, and citizens to maintain cleanliness and prevent waste accumulation. He praised the efforts of the fund's leadership and workers and noted the local authority's commitment to supporting the fund's initiatives, overcoming challenges, and upgrading cleaning services.
Executive Director Abbas Al-Mutawakel presented a report on the progress of cleaning activities in the third quarter of the year, detailing accomplishments in waste collection and transfer. He discussed strategies to reduce waste accumulation and improve urban aesthetics, along with future plans to expand and enhance cleaning services.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors.
